Online Movie Rentals

Online Movies Are The Next Biggest Thing!

VongoStop and think for just a second about how much movies and rentals have evolved even in the last 20 years. 20 years ago, we were all still watching movies in the theater, and then waiting months for that movie to hit the video store; on VHS of course. DVD’s may have existed, but nobody had DVD players in their homes. Then within the last few years, DVD’s became all the rage, and now it seems everyone has at least one DVD player in their home, if not more. Even though video rental stores were becoming a bit more sophisticated with all of this new technology, there was still a pretty good chance that you could walk in on a Friday night looking for that new release, only to find that every single copy had already been rented out. How many times has that happened to you or someone you know? A hundred times? A thousand times?

Well, now that the internet has continued to evolve into the giant that we see today, and we are slowly beginning to get used to having everything at our fingertips whenever we want it. If you want to buy a certain kind of imported candy from Japan, all you have to do is order it online and it’s can be at your door almost overnight. If you want to find out the score of your favorite football game as it’s going on, you can do it online instantly. So why should it be any surprise that we can now see our favorite movies and new releases online whenever we feel like it, and at rock bottom prices too?

Luckily, there are lots of great companies out there who are more than willing to provide you with great movies at low prices; you just have to do a little investigation to find out who is offering exactly what you want. Some of those companies have even had to evolve with the growing market, and have either changed names, or been acquired by another company. For instance, take Vongo online movie rental. This was a company that was owned by Starz entertainment and provided subscribers with a great video on demand service. Subscribers were able to download their video rentals, and used adobe/ macromedia flash software to do so. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, they stopped taking subscribers in August of 2008, and were totally discontinued in September of 2008. So if you are going to visit the Vongo online movie rental website, you will be redirected to Starz website. Whether their prices were too high or their title library was too small remains to be seen.

However, there are still a lot of great services out there, including Blockbuster and Netflix, who can offer video on demand services as well as DVD rentals through the mail. The best part about these companies is that they offer a huge selection of titles that are all available at your fingertips. If you still prefer to handle actual DVD’s, they can easily be sent to you in the mail, and all you have to do is return it when you are done with it. Late fees are now a thing of the past!
